Sexual Health Education

The Zillah School District will provide families access to pertinent information regarding Sexual Health Education requirements as well as resources to help families make decisions for their children. Please find a link below to OSPI's website where you can find state requirements and standards as well as links to Zillah School District Policy.

Sexual Health Education begins in the 4th and 5th grade with two presentations regarding puberty and their changing bodies. In grades 6-9 and 11, students will receive 30 minutes lessons for a week during PE classes two different times, one in the winter semester and one in the spring semester.

Although these topics can be controversial, the Zillah School District maintains local control of the content and limits discussion to medically accurate and age appropriate concepts. Staff are trained to provide factual information and refer students to families when questions are value specific.
