Procedure for Meal Charges

The goal of the Zillah School District’s breakfast and lunch program is to provide healthy meals to children during the school day. In order to serve healthy, high quality meals to all children, we must make sure we are financially secure. You play a key role in this effort, and are responsible for purchases made by your child in our programs.

 

STEP I – Negative balance between $1.00-$25.00

• Parent/Guardian will be notified verbally by the phone message system

• Reminders may be sent home with students

 

STEP II – Negative balance between $25.00-$50.00

• Parent/Guardian will be notified verbally by the phone message system and contacted by the Building Administrator or designee

• Reminders may be sent home with students

 

STEP III – Negative balance above $50.00

• Parent/Guardian will be notified verbally by the phone message system and a letter from the school district superintendent will be mailed home

• Reminders may be sent home with students

 

STEP IV – Negative balance above $75.00

• Superintendent or designee will work with family on plans for payment, collecting debt
