Michael has a broad background in music. Michael was influenced by outstanding instructors throughout his years as a student. He performed with the Montana All-State band (2 years) and performed in regional and nationwide tours as both an instrumentalist and vocalist during high school and college.
Michael received has Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Warner Pacific College (Portland, Oregon) in 1989 and his Masters of Education in Professional Development from Heritage College (Toppenish, Washington) in 1992. He has taught general music, band, and choir, and is currently teaching K-4 classes in Zillah, WA. He developed the rhythm instrument group Rhythm Express (5th and 6th graders), which currently performs throughout the Yakima Valley.
He has contributed to and chaired many district committees, and currently serves as the elementary representative to the Yakima Valley Music Educators Association. A past adjudicator at local instrumental contests, he is also an adjunct professor at Heritage University, teaching Methods of Fine Arts. Michael is an active performer serving as a church worship leader and community choir member.
