Baseball Coaches Profile
 

Head Coach Kekoa Gabriel.  Coach Gabriel played baseball and graduated from Selah High School and played for Upper Valley Legion baseball.  (Now the Pepsi-Paks)  He played at Yakima Valley Community College and Central Washington University, graduating in 1981.  He has coached at Mariner High School in Everett and started the Mukilteo Big League team for boys 16-18.   Coach Gabriel was the Head Coach at Shoreline Community College in Seattle from 1988 to 1990 and was previously Head Coach of the Leopards from 1992 from to 1994.  He has been an assistant at Zillah High School for Head Coaches Bob Burke and Darren Cooper before assuming the Head Coaching Position again in 2008. 

Assistant Coach Tim Calhoun.  Coach Calhoun graduated from Zillah High School in 2002 after completing what may be the greatest athletic careers in the history of the school, being named to the football, basketball and baseball All-State teams his senior year.  He accepted a football scholarship to Eastern Washington University where he was named All Big Sky Honorable Mention his Freshman year. Although plagued by injuries the next two seasons, Coach Calhoun returned to the starting lineup for the Eagles in 2006 and 2007 and graduated from Eastern Washington in Recreation Management.  Coach Calhoun manages his family’s farm near Wapato. 
Assistant Coach Matt Brown.  Coach Brown played baseball at West Valley High School where he was an All-State player in 2003.  He played for the Yakima Valley Pepsi Paks and played college baseball at Big Bend Community College and culminated his playing career at Central Washington University and graduated from CWU in 2008.  During the summer, Coach Brown coaches West Valley’s Junior Legion Team. Coach Brown teaches Elementary PE at Hilton Elementary and assists with Middle School football.
