Pathfinders

Zillah High School

The Pathfinders outdoor adventures group has been in operation since 2003. Over the decade of the Pathfinder's existence, hundreds of Zillah students have engaged in Pathfinder activities such as hiking in Yellowstone National Park, the Beartooth Mountains of Montana, the Cascades Mountains of Washington, and Mount Rainier National Park. The Pathfinders also backpack fish into some of the mountain lakes in WDFW Region 3 to help provide fishing opportunities for the state's anglers.   Of course, we enjoy catching those fish as well, and have hiked into local lakes to practice spin casting and fly fishing for Washington trout. Winter doesn't stop the Pathfinders from heading outdoors, making winter hikes in the desert and heading into the mountains to try snowshoeing.  If you're an outdoors person or think you would like to be one, the Pathfinders are for you.

To become one, join Science Club by paying the $5 dues in the office, then sign up for Pathfinder activities when they occur. Pathfinder advisors this year are Mr. Gabriel, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Brown and Mr. Ford with an on going assist from Mr. Charbonneau. See any of us to talk about Pathfinders and find out what we're doing next. Already this year we've made hikes into Dewey Lake south of Chinook Pass to stock fish and we've hiked the Pacific Coast Trail to the top of ski lift at White Pass. Next up-winter hiking. Join Pathfinders and get it on the fun.
