1. SHORT AND LONG TERM Goals-Organization & Composition

    a. After brainstorming, you need to write your answers into an organized essay.

    b. It needs to be a page or more, so you will have to give a little detail about each of the areas
that you wrote down answers for on the worksheets.

    c. Goal Statement Organization

            i. Length:  A page or more each

ii. Requirements:  These are the same for both goals essays since they follow the same
                 basic pattern:

iii.  Discuss goals from your brainstorming sheet. Discuss goals in some detail—don’t just
make it a list and not explain each item.  If you skip this, your essay will be boring
                   and too short.

iv. Organize each paper into categories.  Each category will be one paragraph.  The
brainstorming questions fell into these general categories:
      --Educational goals
      --Occupational goals
      --Life goals
      --Personal goals

            v. If you honestly tried and did not have anything for a particular area, leave it out.
Remember though---the more ideas you have, the easier it is to write the essay.

vi. The essay needs to start out with a thesis sentence.  It ends with a conclusion sentence.

    d. The goals essay’s form:
